MCAT physical sciences intensive prep class. Taught by Anthony Graybosch, a theoretical physics PhD student with 9 years' physics teaching and tutoring experience, and 3 years' MCAT tutoring experience. Anthony is the author of the forthcoming prep guide Nuke The MCAT, and has a deeper knowledge of physics, and of physics instruction, than does any local MCAT instructor. Anthony has taken chemistry through physical chemistry and has successfully helped MCAT students realize 4 - 7 point gains on the physical sciences section in under a month. Having taught the MSU physics labs for life scientists, and worked in the tutorial center, Anthony is aware of the gaps in the 231-232 sequence which must be addressed in order to help raise a physical sciences' score. We will go through an overview of physics and inorganic chemistry designed to give you both a deep and an operational knowledge of all matters that can appear in the physical sciences section. We will solve all official MCAT physical sciences problems, and their generalizations. Materials provided. Students enrolled in the course eligible for individual tutoring at 25% off of our normal rate.
Class Sundays January 22 to February 26, Sunday March 18 1:00 - 5:00 PM, + two simulated exams TBD+optional live online review session over Spring Break. $599. Or sign up for the verbal, writing, biological sciences, and physical sciences for only $1100, a $697 savings. Enroll for physical science. Enroll for complete course.
MCAT verbal and writing section intensive prep class. Taught by Anthony Graybosch, a theoretical physics PhD student and expert verbal standardized exam instructor. Not just a quant person, Anthony has edited a winning Rhodes Scholarship application for an English major and is the author of the forthcoming prep guide Nuke The MCAT. He has helped several MSU students dramatically raise their verbal section scores with just a few hours' tutoring. We will, by solving and analyzing every official problem, learn the culture of the exam, and figure out how to meet it on its own terms. We will learn how to set aside reading and thinking habits, necessary for survival given the throughput of information we endure when we use the Web, that interfere with doing well on reading comprehension exams. We will work on constructing MCAT essays, part of the exam generally less important than the rest but not ignored by admissions committees, and also spend some time addressing how to construct application materials to highlight student achievements and desirability. Materials provided. Students enrolled in the course eligible for individual tutoring at 25% off of our normal rate.

MCAT biological sciences intensive prep class. Taught by biology professor Meredith Wagner and analytical chemist/MSU M.D. student Melinda Maile, the class will review the biology and organic chemistry germane to the MCAT and solve every official MCAT biology and organic chemistry problem. Materials provided. The philosophy of the course is to keep the above-the-level-of-the-MCAT rigor and coherence of a good college organic chem/biology course while completely omitting topics that do not appear on the exam and emphasizing problem solving ability. Students enrolled in the course eligible for individual tutoring at 25% off of our normal rate.
